Heliocare 360 Invisible Spray SPF50+ review
If I had to keep just one topical sunscreen at home all year for face and body, it would be Heliocare 360 Invisible Spray SPF50+. Clear spray, SPF50+, 360° technology that covers UVA, UVB, infrared and visible light, and an oil-free finish that does not leave shine or a film. I have been recommending it for years and I have rarely been wrong.
This review focuses on Heliocare 360 SPF50+ Invisible Spray 200 ml. If you want the wider brand context, you will find everything in the Heliocare hub analysis. To complement with oral photoprotection, the D Plus analysis explains the other pillar of the range.
What is Heliocare 360 SPF50+ Invisible Spray 200 ml
Heliocare 360 Invisible Spray SPF50+ is a facial and body sunscreen spray with SPF50+ in a 200 ml pressurised bottle that sprays in all positions (vertical, horizontal and upside down — yes, also head down, useful for reapplying on the back). It has a transparent finish with no white cast or sticky residue. It is water- and sweat-resistant and the full bottle comfortably lasts a summer of daily facial use plus occasional body use.
The price per millilitre is one of the most reasonable in the Heliocare range. You get a lot of product per euro, especially compared with 50 ml facial tubes at a similar price.
- Heliocare 360 Invisible Spray SPF50+ is a clear facial and body sunscreen in a 200 ml pressurised spray that works at any angle.
- The formula offers water- and sweat-resistant protection without white cast or sticky residue on the skin.
- Cost per millilitre is lower than many dedicated facial sunscreens in the same brand, making it good value for daily use.
Composition and 360° technology
It uses a classic combination of modern chemical filters (avobenzone, octocrylene, Tinosorb, butyl methoxydibenzoylmethane) which together cover UVB, short UVA and long UVA. The 360° technology adds protection against near infrared (responsible for much of the thermal solar damage and photoageing) and against blue-violet visible light (relevant in melasma, reactive pigmentation and screen exposure in sensitive people).
It also includes Fernblock®, the patented extract of Polypodium leucotomos that is the technical hallmark of the whole Heliocare range. In topical form, Fernblock adds antioxidant activity that reinforces skin defences after exposure. It is not the same as taking it orally — the dose is lower — but it still contributes.
The formula is oil-free and non-comedogenic. It is suitable for combination and oily skin with an acne tendency. It is not the best option for very dry skin (which will benefit more from a cream-textured formula).
- The spray combines several organic UV filters to provide broad-spectrum protection across UVB and both short- and long-wave UVA.
- Heliocare’s 360° technology targets additional wavelengths including near infrared and blue-violet visible light linked to photoageing and pigmentation.
- Fernblock extract provides topical antioxidant support, while the oil-free non-comedogenic base suits combination to oily acne-prone skin.
What to use Heliocare 360 Invisible Spray for and when
This product is designed as a versatile daily-use sunscreen. Some scenarios where it works particularly well:
As an everyday facial sunscreen when you do not have a specific skin problem. Apply generously every morning to face and neck after your skincare routine. Used only on the face it lasts more than six months.
As a body sunscreen on exposed areas for daily use (décolletage, arms, hands, nape) in people with moderate exposure. For full days at the beach it is better to use larger body formats (Heliocare 360 Airgel Corporal 200 ml or specific SportSun sprays).
To keep in your rucksack, car or work bag as a second bottle for easy reapplications during the day. The spray format makes application easier even over make-up if you apply a fine layer.
After cosmetic procedures (peels, laser, microneedling) when you need maximum protection without heavy textures. The invisible finish does not interfere with medical treatments.
- Heliocare 360 Invisible Spray SPF50+ can act as both a primary daily facial sunscreen and a convenient top-up product.
- The spray format allows quick application on commonly exposed body areas such as arms, chest and hands.
- The lightweight invisible texture makes it suitable after cosmetic procedures where high protection without occlusion is needed.
Who Heliocare 360 Invisible Spray is for (and who it isn’t)
Who it is for: combination and oily skin with an acne tendency that does not tolerate heavy sunscreens. Any skin type needing a general-purpose daily product without a specific issue. People who want one versatile product for face + body. Those who value adherence (easy application and effortless reapplication).
Who it is not for, with nuances: very dry skin that needs a more nourishing texture (better Heliocare 360 Cream or a fluid specifically for mature skin). Skin with active melasma or pigmentation under treatment (better Pigment Solution Fluid, which contains tranexamic acid and niacinamide). Very reactive or atopic skin that prefers physical filters (Heliocare Mineral range with zinc oxide).
For children: there is a specific paediatric version (Heliocare 360 Pediatrics Transparent Spray) with fragrance-free formula and adapted dosing. That is preferable to this one for children’s skin.
- The oil-free non-comedogenic base makes Heliocare 360 Invisible Spray suitable for combination to oily acne-prone adult skin.
- Very dry, highly pigmented or extremely sensitive skins may need alternative textures or mineral-only filters within the Heliocare range.
- A dedicated paediatric Heliocare spray exists and is generally more appropriate than this product for children’s skin.
Invisible Spray vs alternatives in the catalogue
I keep four topical formats on shelf that cover different profiles. The comparison table below puts them side by side. The short version:
If you want a specific facial sunscreen with a very light texture, Heliocare 360 Gel Oil-Free 50 ml at a reasonable price is the alternative when you only need face coverage. It is more concentrated and better suited to very oily acne-prone skin.
If your main goal is pigmentation control with SPF, Heliocare 360 Pigment Solution, also at a reasonable price, combines filters with tranexamic acid, niacinamide and an oligopeptide for melasma or lentigines.
If you need more extensive body coverage (full days at the beach or outdoor sport), Heliocare 360 Airgel Corporal 200 ml at a reasonable price is designed specifically for large body areas.
And if your skin is very sensitive or you prefer physical filters without chemical ones, the Heliocare Mineral line is the option to look at.
- Heliocare offers lighter gel textures such as Gel Oil-Free when only facial coverage for very oily skin is required.
- Pigment-focused fluids add actives like tranexamic acid and niacinamide alongside UV filters for melasma-prone skin.
- Larger body formats and mineral-only lines within Heliocare may be preferable depending on coverage needs and sensitivity profile.
Invisible Spray within the Heliocare cluster
This is the fastest-moving topical product on my shelf and the one I recommend most often for general daily use. It forms the topical pillar of the brand’s complete protocol: oral (D Plus) in the morning on an empty stomach + Invisible Spray after your skincare routine + reapplication mid-morning and mid-afternoon if there is real exposure.
It works well combined with oral Fernblock photoprotection in higher-risk profiles. Internal defence from oral Fernblock plus this topical spray barrier covers both fronts of modern photoprotection.
- I position Heliocare 360 Invisible Spray as the main topical step within a broader oral-plus-topical photoprotection protocol.
- D Plus capsules provide systemic Fernblock while Invisible Spray supplies external UV and visible-light shielding.
- This combined strategy targets both internal oxidative stress pathways and direct radiation hitting the skin surface.
Pharmacist recommendations
A practical regimen: apply a generous layer every morning to face and neck after moisturiser. Reapply mid-morning if there is real exposure. Also apply to ears, nape, décolletage and backs of hands — areas most people forget where early sun spots and lesions tend to appear from cumulative exposure.
Consistency beats any individual active ingredient.
For body use on trips or holidays, apply liberally 20 minutes before exposure and reapply every two hours or after swimming. The spray format makes reapplication easy even without removing make-up.
If your budget is tight, this Invisible Spray is the best single option in the range for daily use in my view. If you are also going to take oral photoprotection, combining it with Heliocare 360 D Plus completes the protocol properly.
No major complications.
My personal opinion: this is Heliocare’s most underrated product. For price, versatility and adherence it outperforms more expensive dedicated facial sunscreens for normal daily use. It is what I keep at home myself and what I recommend when someone asks me for “a good sensible sunscreen”.
