APOQUEL MASTICABLE 5.4 MG 20 COMP is a veterinary medicine presented in the form of chewable tablets designed for dogs, containing 5.4 mg of oclacitinib as the active ingredient.
This medication is indicated for the treatment of pruritus associated with allergic dermatitis and the clinical manifestations of atopic dermatitis in dogs.
The tablets, which are pentagonal and range from light to dark brown in color, are flavored to facilitate ingestion and can be administered with or without food.
The recommended dose is 0.4 to 0.6 mg of oclacitinib per kilogram of the dog’s weight, administered twice daily for 14 days, followed by once daily as maintenance therapy.
The use of Apoquel is not recommended in dogs under 12 months of age or weighing less than 3 kg, and caution should be exercised when administering to dogs with a history of immunosuppression or malignant neoplasia.
Additionally, it is advised to monitor dogs under treatment for potential infections or complications.
