Zoviduo 50mg/g and 10mg/g Cream is a non-prescription medicinal product indicated for the treatment of the first signs and early symptoms of recurrent cold sores (cold sores) to reduce the progression of cold sore episodes to ulcerating lesions in immunocompetent adults and adolescents (12 years and older).

ACTION AND MECHANISM

- Antiviral. Combination of an antiviral drug (acyclovir) together with an anti-inflammatory drug (hydrocortisone).* Acyclovir: virostatic guanosine analogue, which inhibits the cellular synthesis of viral DNA by inhibiting viral replication.* Hydrocortisone: anti-inflammatory corticosteroid that inhibits phospholipase A2, reducing the production of proinflammatory mediators derived from arachidonic acid such as prostaglandins and leukotrienes. It also reduces the release of inflammatory factors such as kinins, histamine, liposomal enzymes, prostaglandins or leukotrienes.
