Collection: Kojic Acid
Pharmacy brightening serums, creams and treatments with kojic acid. An active obtained from rice fermentation by the koji fungus (Aspergillus oryzae). It inhibits tyrosinase, the key enzyme in melanin production, and can lighten pigmentation without aggressing the skin. Concentrations from 1% to 4% in OTC skincare. A good alternative to hydroquinone on sensitive skin.
