Levonorgestrel Sandoz 1.5 mg is a single-dose emergency contraception tablet designed to reduce the risk of pregnancy after unprotected sex or contraceptive failure. This oral medicine contains levonorgestrel 1.5 mg and should be taken as soon as possible after the incident.
- Emergency levonorgestrel tablet for use after unprotected intercourse or condom, diaphragm or pill failure.
- Works mainly by delaying or preventing ovulation when taken promptly after sex.
- Single oral dose: one tablet only, with no ongoing treatment schedule.
- Can be used at any point in the menstrual cycle, within 72 hours, with greater effectiveness the earlier it is taken.
- Contains lactose monohydrate; people with lactose intolerance should seek medical or pharmacy advice before use.
This medicine is for occasional emergency use only, does not replace regular contraception and does not protect against sexually transmitted infections. Do not exceed the recommended dose.
