Scalibor 1x1G 230 65 cm is an external antiparasitic collar from MSD Animal Health designed for medium and large dogs: it releases deltamethrin (40 mg/g) and provides a repellent effect against phlebotomine sand flies for 12 months, against mosquitoes of the Culex pipiens complex for 6 months, prevention of tick infestations for 6 months, and flea prevention for 4 months. Its effectiveness against Phlebotomus perniciosus — a vector of Leishmania infantum transmission — makes it a valuable component of a preventive program; it begins to protect one week after placement and withstands incidental contact with water during the first 6 months.
Place it fitted but not tight (leave a two-finger gap), cut excess leaving 5 cm after the buckle, and use one collar per animal. Do not use on cats or puppies under 7 weeks old; in rare cases, local reactions or general signs may occur, which usually resolve after removing the collar. Precautions: avoid bathing or letting the dog swim during the first 5 days, wash your hands after handling, and keep the product out of reach of children.
