Boehringer Apelka 5 Mg/Ml Oral Solution 100 ml APELKA 5 MG/ML ORAL SOLUTION 100 ML is a veterinary medicine in oral solution, formulated for the treatment and stabilization of feline hyperthyroidism. It contains 5 mg of methimazole (tiamazol) per ml and is presented as a clear, transparent, and slightly viscous solution designed for direct administration to cats. This treatment is suitable for both long-term medical control of hyperthyroidism and preoperative stabilization before thyroidectomy. During treatment, periodic hematological and biochemical monitoring is recommended due to the risk of hematological and immunological toxicity. Store below 25°C in the original packaging and use within 6 months of first use. This product requires a veterinarian’s prescription. Directions for Use The recommended initial dose is 2.5 mg (0.5 ml) every 12 hours, adjusting based on clinical response and T4 levels; do not exceed 10 mg (2 ml) twice daily. Administer directly orally as directed by a veterinarian and conduct regular monitoring of clinical and analytical parameters. Precautions Do not use in cats with hypersensitivity to methimazole or its excipients, nor in animals with primary liver disease, diabetes mellitus, hematological or immunological disorders, pregnant or lactating females; avoid contact with skin and eyes, use gloves during administration, and in case of human exposure, wash thoroughly with water.
